Mildenstein Castle

The imposing walls of this castle, which has loomed from the steep cliffs over the Freiberg Mulde valley for more than 1000 years, can be seen from miles around. The permanent exhibition on the castle’s history is perfect for enthusiasts of all ages. The small, squat Frieder Berg tower takes children on a journey through time, telling them exciting stories and some of the castle's secrets at the push of a button. For children who like to learn with their hands, there is also a wall puzzle and a wooden model castle to build. With a wide variety of events such as concerts, family tours and the annual “Holiday fun for royal children” programme, there’s always a reason to come and explore Mildenstein Castle.
