Beucha fortified church in Brandis

The Beucha fortified church is a mountain church, whose oldest part consists of the tower and sacristy (c. 1284).
In the 19th century, a nave was added in the west, thus creating a “double church”. It stands on the mountain next to a stone quarry that was the source of the stones for the Monument to the Battle of the Nations in Leipzig. The Beucha mountain church houses a Schmeisser organ, which was rededicated in 2006.
